Restaurateur Elaine Kaufman Dies in NYC - NYTimes.com

One of dik´s few claims to fame, sitting next to Elaine at a preview showing of Cats in New York City. Sitting close to the front on the right, not a good way to see Cats, which should be seen from the mezanine.

Elaine, too, should be seen, not heard. And she was not so nice to dik, but tolerated him in the peanut gallery on the side at her restaurant. Not in the main part of the restaurant, only able to see Woody playing cards by occasional trips to the men´s room.

Dik seems to want to say that he cannot remember Elaine without a cigarette in her mouth, and sitting with that hateful look on her face there near the cash register.

God Bless you, for providing such a wonderful place and a great plate of pasta, with the old waiters.

Let the Memories live again,as they will, she was a great one, to say one of a kind, is redundant, so to speak. I just want to hear one of the tributes and that would be from Mr. Allen.
